This is an elegantly designed 18-19th century, combination tack hammer. The head, which has a graceful claw and an elegantly embellished throat, also has a small screwdriver projecting from the hammer head. The handle unscrews revealing a pick. The elaborate rosewood handle has a brass stem and a decorative bulbous terminal. For me, this is one of the most beautiful examples of the marriage of function and beauty in tools that I have ever seen. This hammer is published in the book: The Remarkable Hammer, p.52
