A heavy cast bronze Art Nouveau style centrepiece or candle holder some 9.5" high. The design is most interesting, with the long flowing lines of the tripod base extending upwards terminating in a foliage of leaf-like sprays topped by a calyx for holding a candle (2" diameter). It will come with a box of four candles which I found in a drawer (shown in pics). Note: Pic 1 has been taken in natural light and gives a better indication of true colour of item. The other pics have all been taken with flash.

It has been sand cast and is very solid and rather heavy tipping the scales at almost 1.6kg. I can find no maker's name anywhere. Given its weight and colour it is clearly bronze rather than brass and possibly dates to the 1960's or 70's at a guess. Its certainly not new as there was some verdigris around the base. I have not cleaned it rather applied a light touch of 'Fiddes lemon' furniture polish which has melded the verdigis into a darker bronze colour.

A  very attractive item. Great as a table centrepiece for a candle light evening get together.
