THE HISTORY OF GRIMWADES LTD. :
Although the name "Royal Winton Ware" was in use from as early as 1897, it wasn't until 1929 that Royal Winton was first introduced under the Grimwades Ltd. trade name. For those of you who are curious, Leonard Lumsden Grimwade was an experienced pottery maker in England.  Along with his brother, Sidney Richard Grimwade, they quickly expanded Grimwades Ltd. and had four factories in operation by 1906. Since King George V and Queen Anne were huge fans of the Grimwades line, they would often visit each factory just to catch a glimpse of the latest patterns.
