BERENGARIA (1921)

Built by Vulkan Werkes, Hamburg, Germany for the Hamburg-America Line and named IMPERATOR (1912). She was a 51,969 GT ship with dimensions of 883'x98'. quadruple-screw, 23 knots, four steam turbines, two masts and three funnels.

Launched May 23, 1912 with accommodations for 700 first and 600 second and 1,000 third and 1,800 fourth class. 

She was ceded to Great Britain under treaty of Versailles after First World War and renamed BERENGARIA IN 1921. Was chartered to the Cunard Line in service Liverpool-New York.

Sold to British shipbreakers in 1938.
