Macmillan, 1954 - Hardcover - 1st US edition/1st printing as listed on the copyright page with no other printings listed. Copyright page displays 1953 as publication year but book was first published in the US in March 1954. 

Dark green papers over boards with red lettering on spine and front board. The corners and spine tips are in good order with slight wear. There is a slight lean. An inscription for the original owner is on the front end board from a person in New Jersey. There is some residue on the front and back end papers which appears to have come from tape (no longer tacky). There are some black marks on the top edge which is no foxing. Page 13 of the textbook was dog eared at one point. 

The dust jacket has a few small tears and missing areas to front - see images. Jacket is price clipped or possibly price torn. White paper on the back is not toned. This is the first issue of the dust jacket because of the square cut back flaps. Jacket designed by Leo Manso and maintains strong red and green on the spine - which typically faded. The jacket is no protected in mylar sleeve.
