Antique 19th century stenciled vegetable ivory / corozo/ palm nut button.  The design has an organic look, some type of plant life, I think.  It is not a common stencil design. Drilled self shank. The button measures 7/8" in diameter; NBS size medium. Excellent condition;  the surface crack in the back is original to the button and a natural part of a palm nut.  A really beautiful and collectible antique  button!
