Someone contacted me about older apparatus, check out my other auctions cause I'm putting out a bunch of new older pieces going back to horse drawn.

I'm launching a series of horse drawn American fire apparatus.  (Horses not included)   It occurred to me that many departments motorized their horse drawn fire wagons and kept using them.  If you're modeling early  to mid 20th Century these will be a must for protecting you layout.  Many of these served through WW2 due to problems like the Depression and WW 2 just to name a few.     These units will look great as a flat car load, sitting in a fire station,  parade or in some cases around a larger business.

This is a formerly horse drawn tiller hook and ladder being pulled by a Mack AC tractor.  It has the classic look of the fire apparatus of the era.  It has the rear tiller man seat and a jump net mounted on the running board.

Ladder technology began to progress toward the end of the 19th Century with large fixed ladders, most were wood which limited the length and 2 sections was the norm.  These apparatus tended to be very long and frequently had a second set of steering wheels on the rear to help getting around corners and into tight places.  Ground ladders and other equipment were also carried.  As motorization become common many of these were converted either with their own motor unit or pulled by a tractor.  As metal and aluminum ladders become the norm these rigs were put out to pasture along with the horses.  This is a generic ladder wagon, with a Christie tractor.  Christie made two wheel tractors to provide power to motorize fire apparatus.  It was a niche market.  These were pretty popular in the early decades of the 1900s.  These tended to be slow but reliable and much cheaper than maintaining a stable of horses so cities upgraded as soon as they could.

I'll be adding more as time permits.  Some flash removal is required, Some models will require basic assembly.  Each listing is for one item unless otherwise specified.  Pictures with painted trucks  are N scale.

Since most modelers like to buy more than one item,  I'm glad to combine shipping.  You should never pay more than $5.99 in total.  With that said, you can request an invoice or contact me to make arrangements to adjust shipping.
