Offered here is an ink drawing on paper of a man with a top hat holding the reins of a horse upon which a woman is sitting side saddle.  There is another horse apparently waiting for the man to mount.

On the reverse, someone has written "Pen Drawing by Slater 1851".  I did not remove the drawing from the frame so I do not know if there is a signature on the drawing somewhere.  There were British artists in the 19th century named Joseph Slater and Josiah Slater.  They may or not be the same person.

On the reverse there is also a label of the David Kendriks Gallery.  This gallery, in Dublin, is described online as a "renowned" gallery.  Apparently it was located at the address on the label from the early 1960s until 1983.

The dimensions are:  height 4 inches (image in mat), 9 1/2 inches (frame); width 2 7/8 inches (image in mat) 7 1/2 inches (frame).

This drawing is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off.  Please read the condition description carefully and review the photographs.  Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions".  For example, offered maps are of the period.  I do my best to accurately describe the items being sold, but if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.  Please check my other listings for additional items of interest.  I will combine shipping.
