ATH#240337
Vintage (very vintage!)
Hammer Forged
Skinning Knife
made in usa
c.1950
Rosewood handle
Upswept Trailing Point
10 ½” Overall
6” Blade
Full Tang – so very well made
The three pins on the handle scales are just as solid as could be
There is some carbon bloom on the blade – to be expected after 75 years
I do not think there is any rust – just carbon-bloom (which, by the way –
helps protects against rust to a small degree!)
I do not usually clean up the carbon bloom from knives in my collection –
but if you send me a note when you make your purchase and ask me to, I will
spend some time with Flitz (a non-abrasive metal cleaner) and perhaps add some
RenWax coating to the blade.
I am not sure if this has ever been used.
I am pretty sure it has never been sharpened
The handle has only a few surface scratches – from what I call shelf-wear
(being kicked around and handled in storage a little over the years)
