This has to be one of the most beautiful IWC Calatrava Japanese Market Isomura platinum cased watches from 1950's.

Stunning black dial sets this watch off and its beauty, function, and classic design make it a true gem. It is very difficult to confirm, but it appears that the dial has been expertly and beautifully refinished prior to my ownership of the watch.

Very underrated, these IWC platinum Isomura cased watches are all one of kind HANDMADE timeless watches. You can see that they are handmade as the lugs are hand welded in Japan. I have many of these Isomura cased IWC and they all have unique welding on lugs and at first look you would think it’s been repaired (albeit very well done) but it hasn’t been repaired. The platinum solder material has darkened which is visible. Of course the watch is beautiful but it you want a steel or gold IWC you can get a factory one that’s perfect. Platinum IWC watches are superior in rarity and ultra collectible.

The addition of the Caliber 853 Pellaton Automatic movement was truly ahead of its time. A serious high grade movement that competes with the greatest movements made by the best manufacturers of the time and today.
