Rare 19th century plein air painting of the historical Odd Fellows Cemetery in Pennsylvania.

Note: Painting was removed from frame for in depth/detailed and close up viewing (especially engraved writing)

Painting was carefully put back into original frame.

Artist: Unknown-ineligible signature Signature: Engraved signature (possibly just initials) with date on lower right. Additional date above signature in red. Location is written in pencil on lower middle margin area as shown.

I think the engraved writing is possibly artist intials with also the date engraved

“September 2nd 1871”

But not certain.

Signature and or writing is very difficult to read. Stains are over the top of engraving. Restoration may help! UV lighting as well.

Medium: oil on thick card stock or cardboard. Painting was once mounted to wood panel. Painting is no longer mounted. (I purchased it this way)
