This is a unique British Austin Cars Golden Jubilee 1905-1955 Commemorative Medal Coin that comes with its original velvet lined box. Manufactured by D & A Butler in Birmingham England and commissioned by the Directors of the Austin Motor Company, this was created to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Company. Only a very few of these coins were actually made though the exact number is unknown. They were given out to the people who had been in the cavalcade made up of Austin cars from 1908 to 1955 which passed by the company headquarters in 1955. The coin's frontage shows a figurehead of Herbert Austin and on the rear are images of the first Austin car - an Endcliffe Tourer - with a reflection of the latest new model at the time - an Austin A55 Cambridge.

The medal shows just a small amount of standard antique wear on one side and has been well-preserved in its original packaging. The box shows some wear and is lined in velvet. This belonged to my grandfather who loved collecting coins, medals and anything related to cars! Please see pictures and thanks for looking!
