A scarce hand written vellum document from the short reign of King Philip and Queen Mary.

Measures 20½ inches by 11 inches.

Dated 26 February in the second and third years of the reign of Philip and Mary - King and Queen. This dates it to 1556. A scarce document - 468 years old.

Contents are written in English. I found the handwriting hard to read and some of the ink is faint. Due to this, my description will be limited.

People named in the agreement are (or appear to be):

Thomas Mason of ??? in the County of Warwick (?), Yeoman.

    George Sadler of Whytting, Husbandman.

    Margerie(?) Sadler of Whytting, Widow.

Relates to the bargain and sale of a Messuage and lands in the Lordship of Whitting and Sutton Coldfield.

CONDITION. Contents complete. No holes or tears. Old fold lines. Some of the ink is faint or worn. Good clean condition for a document of this age. Retains the original vellum tab but the wax seal is lacking.
