Parker Bruyere Perfection

Early Parker pipes have fans seeking them out just as much as Dunhill collectors for early Dunhill pipes. At one time, most briars begin life waiting to be a Dunhill, but end up being Parker pipes because of some flaw or lack of grain, but many collectors rightfully claim an old Parker patent like this can stand up on its own merits.
If the pipe is pre 1967 then its most likely a Dunhill second.

A traditional English Parker pipe made approximately between 1957 and 1967, before merge with Hardcastle Pipe Ltd. It was the period, when Parker successfully combined Dunhill’s resources and production facility and its own, at times very different from Dunhill’s approach to carving, shaping, finishing and marketing. Therefore both experienced pipe collectors and refined smokers highly evaluate these “Parkers”.

The Parker Bruyere Briar pipes incorporate the re-usable metal filter system. The metal filter is suspended in the middle of a moisture trap, which forces the smoke to spiral round the cool metal before entering the stem. This causes condensation, which naturally removes tar and moisture deposits from the smoke trapping them in the shank for a cool pleasant smoking experience. Simply wipe clean in between smokes. The metal filter can be removed altogether for smokers who prefer a totally unrestricted full bodied smoke.

The Parker Bruyere is the best of the Dunhill "failings." The light, warm yellow stain isn't deep enough to hide any marks in the grain so the bowl must not have any visible flaws or disruptions and the pattern in the grain needs to be of a high grade. So this is as close to Dunhills standards as you can get

This is a quintessential English Billiard during the ascendent era of pipe smoking in Europe and North America and is a fine example of bygone times. A must have for the English style pipe collector.
