For auction are both Volume I and Volume II of Experience of War by Kenneth S. Davis.  The author of these volumes sets forth the actual living through the events of World War II and the role of America in this conflict.  During World War II, Kenneth S. Davis served as a special correspondent covering General Eisenhower’s campaign in France.  He has also written a biography of General Eisenhower, entitled Solder of Democracy, and a biography of Charles Lindbergh, entitled The Hero.

These volumes were published by The Easton Press, as part of the Leather-Bound Library of American History.  The books were published by Easton Press in 1965.  

These volumes are in excellent and unread condition.  The front and back covers are both in pristine condition and the gilded page edges show no wear.  The photographs of the books are the actual books themself, not stock photographs.

The two volumes consist of 704 pages, including the index, and has numerous maps depicting the locations about which the author writes.  This books come with blank bookplates on which you can insert your name and attach it to the book.  Also included are the Collector’s Notes. 

These books, like others in the Easton Press Leather-Bound Library of American History, are bound with premium leather and with heavy duty binding boards, which enhance the books’ durability.  The pages are printed on high quality acid-neutral paper, which will not yellow with age, with Smyth-sewn pages for durability, and features a hubbed spine, accented in 22 kt gold, moiré fabric end-sheets, gilded page edges and a satin ribbon page marker.  The books were printed and bound in the United States of America.
