BLACK SABBATH - PARANOID

Hard to find and highly sought after UK very 1st press Sabbath classic in solid very good plus condition, eminently presentable, and wonderful stereo sound quality throughout

Year/Label : 1970 UK VERTIGO (large swirl)
Label number : 6360 011
Matrix numbers : 6360011 1Y//1 420,  6360011 2Y//1 420
Stampers :  1 2 9  /  11 11

Very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl -  glossy with nice jet black sheen, completely flat and weighty with a few light scuff marks/lines and paper scuffs on each side - each appearing to be superficial, certainly nothing feelable, and mostly only noticeable with closer inspection under a bright light.  Excellent condition labels with some very faint spindle trails on each, only visible with close inspection. The iconic Vertigo swirl logo on each label, and the black text on white background on the side 2 label, all remain perfectly intact.  Non-laminated solid very good plus (VG) condition original gatefold sleeve with all edges remaining firm and barely any scuffing at all, the obvious exception to this being a 6cm scuff, accompanied by a 5cm split, in the very middle of the bottom reverse side edge. The opening edges remain firm also with no fraying. Each corner is a well defined right angle with mild rubbing on each, and all art work and text remains in great order with the occasional small, very light and non-obvious handling/storage mark including two line abrasions (4cm and 2 cm) on the front side and "P 8" indented into the the front side at the very top right hand corner (only identifiable with close inspection in a good light and with the cover tilted to the correct angle). The condition of the interior of the gatefold borders on excellent, the only blemish being three very small circular scuff marks just to the right of the SIDE A song titles. I have tried to catch each of these blemishes in my photos so do take a close look.  Excellent (EX) stereo sound quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks or distortion and background crackle is virtually non-existent - just the hint of a couple of split second and very, very light background crackles during a couple of the quieter moments...negligible. What a fabulous album this remains, with each and every track remaining a great listen!  Comes with original and correctly dated ("0970") Vertigo swirl poly-lined inner sleeve in very good plus condition overall with some mild creasing in two of the corners and a little mild age discolouration towards the edges. Note that I always ship the record in a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original.

A nice condition and highly presentable copy of this Sabbath heavy metal classic with the excellent sound quality being a true highlight and, of course, made even more desirable by being the very 1st UK press "BIG BEAR" variant!
