Wikipedia says that cornhole was first described in an 1883 patent application but this original June 13, 1857 print from the Illustrated London News shows a game in progress 30 years earlier.

Titled "An Afternoon in the Tropics, Indian Ocean," the picture depicts two sailors tossing bags at a round hole on a slanted wooden box while two other players watch. Other people lay idly around, reading and smoking, far too close for the players to be using rocks or anything hard to toss.

The print is about 16" x 11" and in very good condition. Some mild tanning and edge wear. The paper is thick and is not brittle at all. Displays really well.
