This beautiful 1\2 scale (1:24) 2 story Book Box comes in 7 volumes of cookbooks.  It has a downstairs 27 light Bay window that you can look through to see inside and two upstairs windows. The book cover, with an upstairs window and downstairs working entry door,  opens to reveal the interior. The door and all windows are glazed with PET plexiglass. The upstairs is blue with an accent wall while the downstairs is white, which would work well for making it a bakery or a store, or both.  The rooms are approximately 6 3\4” deep and 7 1\4” wide. The upstairs back wall has an interior door leading to what appears to be another room. You can access this simulated room by opening the back cover to put a picture on the wall or small furniture or change how far the door is open, but this room is not functional, it  does lead one to believe there is another room though. Also inside the back cover is the wiring and battery access.

BOOKS

Actual books are used to house the Book Box so some will show normal ware.  This makes the Book Box on the shelf look like normal books that one would keep on a bookshelf.  Depending on the scale and the design Pettit Book Boxes utilize from 1 to 23 books. The bottoms are usually covered in simulated felt to protect your bookshelf surface.

SCALE

Pettit Book Boxes are made to 1:12  (Full Scale), 1:24 (Half Scale), or 1:48 (Quarter Scale).  Every attempt is made to be as true to scale as possible (windows, doors, moldings, flooring, wallpaper, lighting, etc.)

ELECTRICAL

3 volt LED lighting is permanently wired. Each connection is twisted, soldered, and protected by shrink tubing. Two AAA batteries are easily accessible for replacement, however these batteries will last a very long time. Additionally, some Pettit Book Boxes are equipped with remote control for lighting, a fireplace with lighting that simulates a burning fire, and/or stairs or other options.
