This is a vintage handmade wood hat or wig display stand.

It is signed on the bottom by the maker, 1950.

The stand measures 11 inches tall (27.9 cm). The top piece is 4 inches wide and the base is 5 inches wide (10.1 cm, 12.7 cm).

On the bottom there is original pencil writing which might say Made by ??? , along with the year 1950. There is some more writing below that but I just can’t make it out

There are scattered scratches and blemishes to the surface. On the top, there is a small area with a lighter substance there, though it is smooth. I don’t know what that was. There is some scratching and general wear there. The middle piece has some scratches and a small white line at the bottom which does not wipe off. The base just has some light scratching and general wear.

Interestingly, there are three small holes at the bottom of the top piece and also the bottom of the base. I would think these had something to do with it being made, such as on a lathe.
