Antique Victorian glass Inkwell with a brass rim. This particular Inkwell has had a hard life and been dropped on at least one occasion as it has a few chips on it, one large one on one side and there's quite a few dints in the brass rim. It would previously also have had a brass lid, which has come away.  But perhaps that's all part of its history.
