CAR TOONS [#1] (c. 1959)

One of the most overlooked genres of the Silver Age were the car humor magazines. Borrowing the basic format of MAD, these automobile-oriented digests featured some of the most talented West Coast-based comic artists and provided a venue for some of the earliest underground artists of the 1960s.
