A lovely, small 'Eye of Horus' pendant in 925 Sterling Silver. This is a pretty piece of jewellery, and incorporates all the qualities of silver, the Goddess metal, and the protective symbolism of the Adjut.

The pendant measures 18mm (3/4") x 16mm (5/8") excluding bale, and is fashioned from fine, highly polished silver. The pendant is beautifully finished and detailed, and is supplied complete with a free, high-quality fine Silver-plated Snake chain, in a protective silk drawstring gift pouch.

Horus was the 'Divine Son' of the Egyptian Holy Trinity - the son of Isis and Osiris. He was the Falcon God, and lost his eye, but his sight was restored by the Goddess Hathor. Because of this legend, the Eye symbol has been used as a symbol of protection and healing for at least 8,000 years, and often appears in jewellery.

This symbol is also sometimes called the Udjat - an Egyptian word meaning 'making better'. Udjats have been found wrapped with mummies to protect the dead in the next life.
