Caucasian gilt silver belt, 19th c., comprised of 3 center panels set with green glass cabochons, surrounded by 14 filigree hinged 2-inch panels, slide hinged buckle, with illegible silver marks, approx. 31"l, approx. 10.1 oz. Surface wear and scratches.
A stunning antique Caucasian silver wedding bridal belt, featuring gold gilt vermeil finish, three green gemstone cabochon accents, and openwork hinged panel design with hand hammered detailing, circa 19th century. Slide hinged buckle. Measures approx. 30" long, 1.75"-2.75" wide. Weighs approx. 319g (11.2oz). In antique condition, displaying general surface wear consistent with age, such as rubbing and vermeil loss, some hinges are tighter than others, and general irregularities between panels consistent with hand craftsmanship - see pictures. Unidentified hallmarks to buckle ends and several panels.
