This is an Abus 72/40 padlock which I have cut away on one side with a CNC machine so you can see the internals.

These are great as a visual aid for locksport or as a collector/display piece.

The lock is fully functional and comes with 2 working keys. This lock's cylinder comes with 6 pin stacks (with 5 spool driver pins and 1 standard driver pin and copper springs as shown).

This is the exact lock you will be getting. Please check via the photo of the keys that the bitting on this lock is acceptable for your preference/skill level before purchase.

The cutout is on the left side of the lock, as viewed from the bottom of the lock with the pins at the top.

Q:  Why is this cutaway listed as "used?"

A:  I purchase these locks as new prior to machining them, but eBay has advised that "used" is the appropriate listing condition since it is considered a modified item.

Q:  Do cutaways "feel" different to pick than non-cutaway padlocks?

A:  In my opinion, not a lot different. Spool pins may have a deeper false set and may require more pressure to set.
