This antique, sterling silver chatelaine belt pendant is a unique and charming piece of jewelry. It features an ornate cherub cast sliver belt hook and ring with 3 sterling tools and 8 charms.

I am wondering if this piece is Balangandan - Afro-brazilian Amulet related.

Most of the charms are fruit like or vessels.

This piece looks like it’s rather old and came in a collection of items I purchased that were early 1800s ethnic silver pieces.

The chatelaine and charms are made of high quality sterling silver (tested) and includes a red ruby as its main stone.

Some of the charms look like they have hallmarks, but I can not identify.

One of the charms has a hinge and opens up.

Measures just under 5 inches.

Weight- 61.12g.

In excellent antique condition.
