Antique German Hanau 800 Silver Rococo Overlay Etched Glass Fountain Pen Inkwell.  This lovely inkwell features a Rococo and Floral designed silver overlay on an equally inspired etched glass inkwell.  The coordinated silver hinged lid features a lovely script monogram.  This inkwell is in overall excellent condition with the exception of two (2) corner nicks (photographed) and the fact that it needs a polish.  The hinged lid is secure and closes tightly.  The inkwell measures approximately 2-5/8 inches in diameter by 3-1/2 inches tall.  Two areas are marked.  One of the pictures shows a mark of GERMANY on the body of the overlay.  On the base is an impressed makers mark for Vereinigte Silverwarenfabriken, a firm formed as the result of a merger between Wolf & Knell with Gebruder Glass circa 1914.  Before packing this items weighs over 1 lb.
