Description: This is a very nice vintage art glass paperweight in the form of a red apple. This vintage paperweight is shaped as a red apple with a green stem and a green leaf on top. The weight is marked on the bottom with the image of a Peacock and has the words ELWOOD IN below it within a circle. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of the description.
Date: Unknown, but most likely mid to late 1900s (Mid to late 20th century).
Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: The base is ~1 3/8" in diameter and is ~3 3/8" high to the top of the stem. The paperweight weighs about One pound and 6.6 ounces.
Maker: Peacock Glassworks.
Marks: Marked on the bottom with the image of a Peacock and has the words "ELWOOD IN" below it all within a circle.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice vintage paperweight with a nice and desirable shape, which would display very well in your collection of paperweights.
Condition: The paperweight is in good condition with no cracks, hairlines, or repairs. The paperweight has some minor scratches throughout. However, this does not distract from the beauty or the quality of this paperweight and would make a great addition to your paperweight collection.
