Prototype Info: This auction is for a PFM Northern Pacific 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler. In 1902, the Northern Pacific had Burnham, Williams build 40 of these 4-6-0s for passenger service. By 1918, the NP already had larger engines for mainline passenger service. so the 4-6-0s were relegated to brandling service for freight and passenger work. When built these were Vauclain compounds and in the 1918 rebuild they were given conventional cylinders for ease of maintenance. Four of these S-4s was saved and on display in parks in Pasco, WA, Missoula, Mt, Helena, MT and Tacoma, WA. Model Info: Models built around 1976 by Samhongsa of Korea for PFM.
