STAR SPANGLED WAR STORIES #144 - KEY NEAL ADAMS ENEMY ACE!

Up for sale is Star Spangled War Stories #144.  Part of the run of new Enemy Ace stories.  A minor key with Neal Adams and Joe Kubert art.  The comic guides for $170 in NM-.

Marvel may have had Sgt. Fury, but DC was far better with their war genre comics.  Joe Kubert often was the cover artist.

I am downsizing my personal collection and have been selling, and will continue to sell, a wide array of books.

This week I am selling DC war - mostly silver age and some bronze age.  Several keys and cool stuff.  Look in the next few weeks for more key issues!

My estimated grade:

6.0.  Solid mid-grade.  Light spine stresses and light corner creasing.  A few little nicks at the bottom of the front cover.  Back cover is generally good with light scuffing.

If you want more details or scans, ask and I will aim to accommodate.

Please read below for grading policy, combined shipping, and best offers.

Grading

For raw books: I am long-time collector (over 35 years) and I owned approximately 300 slabbed books, the majority of which I recently auctioned on Heritage Auctions.

But I am not a dealer or professional grader, so my grading is my best estimate and I try to disclose everything I see.  I try to be careful as I have bought a lot on Ebay and I obviously hope people give accurate grades when they are selling.

If you find out I missed something material, I will do my best to make it work out, and as you can see from my feedback I have terrific seller ratings.  But if I say a comic is a 6.0, and you think it is a 5.5, please take it in stride.  One thing I do not grade is page quality.  Also, I never grade above a 9.2 because I have no skill to say something is a 9.4, 9.6, 9.8 or better.  So if I say 9.2, it could be higher.

I recently had an idiot buyer totally ignore this - he left "positive" feedback that was actually negative (which itself is super cheesy and passive-aggressive) by saying I had over-graded, but never reached out ahead of time to tell what was his concern.  I still have no idea why he thought the Cheval Noir #9 he paid $4.25 for that I graded a 7.0 was not a 7.0.  Please do not be this type of buyer - if you have an issue, be reasonable and respectful and let's actually discuss.

Best offers

I used to allow best offers, but after enough bidders ignored my instructions and would make a "best offer" below the starting bid, I've given up.  So no best offers will be considered and let's let the market dictate.

Shipping (including combined shipping)

I do not profit from shipping.  For raw books: I can use cheaper options if you want, and I start with media mail in DIAMOND MAILER.  I charge $1 for the mailer.

I do combine shipping - if you win two or more auctions, just wait for me to send an invoice.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WAIT FOR A COMBINED INVOICE!!!

Please understand that there may be sales tax or customs duties.  I have no control over these costs.

International buyers - because of my track record selling, Ebay allows me to use its international shipping, which dramatically lowers the shipping cost for you.  Ebay will send you an invoice.

Feedback

My feedback policy - when I am a seller, I leave feedback when I receive feedback (and when I am a buyer, I leave feedback first).

If there is a problem, I work very hard to resolve it to your satisfaction, but it requires you to reach out to me first to let me know - informally, by messaging me.  That is part of the buyer-seller relationship and why I wait for feedback.  That same idiot buyer I mentioned above?  He didn't understand this common sense dynamic and apparently cannot read instructions.
