VERY RARE 1869 Majolica Nautilus Shell Spoon Warmer

On 2nd August 2, 1869, W. T. Copeland patented the design for a Nautilus Shell Spoon Warmer (registration number 231505).

What is an antique spoon warmer?

A decorative container filled with hot water to keep serving spoons and ladles warm was a perfect solution, allowing food to be served at the right temperature, and fitting in with all of the other items found in a fashionable late 19th century dining room
