LOT 6 Antique Corbin Ceylon Brass Plated Cast Iron Door Back Plates Escutchen READ

All of these doorknob backplates were covered in paint. After soaking them and manually removing what paint I could, I used some fine grit sandpaper, and wet sanded the rest off. Finally, using a toothbrush and toothpick to gently clean the inlay.

READ - These were all originally brass plated. This is clear when looking at the backs. Of course, the fronts have varying degrees of brass loss, some showing near complete loss and some showing much less loss.

PLEASE see all pictures to make sure these will work for you. They all will need further cleaning.

They all measure approximately 5 1/2" x 1 1/2".

You get these exact 6 pieces, all unique with varying degrees of patina and marks, but all in relative, similar condition.

Rescued from a home built in 1917 in the Beverly Hills neighborhood in Chicago.

This neighborhood is known for some of Chicago's most grand houses, including 2 built in 1917, which were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
