L. Frank Baum. DOROTHY AND THE WIZARD OF OZ. 1908. FIRST EDITION, second printing. John R. Neill

Published by Reilly & Britton. 1908. FIRST EDITION, binding B. According to Bienvenue & Schmidt, this is a second printing from circa 1911. Blue cloth. The publisher's spine imprint reads "Reilly & Britton". The advertisement on the verso of the half-title lists six titles. The tin woodman on the spine is embellished in silver. The front cover is in color on a metallic-gold background. Curiously the endpapers are not matching in color. They are decidedly different. I am not sure how common this is.

The front cover plate is very worn, rubbed and scratched. The rear cover has some soiling, staining. The cloth corners are bumped and the spine ends show some wear. The front hinge is showing cracks to the upper and lower ends. The rear hinge has only very minor cracks. Missing the frontispiece only of the 16 color illustrations.

One of the illustrations present is quite worn, stained about the edges and is detached. One other illustration has more minor staining to the upper edge and is also detached. Page 255 has a tear to the lower edge. There is a small hole to the lower margin of one page. A good only copy.
