En 1953 el genial artista Xul Solar reinterpreta las cartas de Tarot. A cada carta le agrega el nombre en 'neocriollo', un signo que puede pertenecer al zodiaco o símbolo astrológico, un número y una letra. Xul dibujó y pintó en los doce primeros naipes de su Tarot, los doce signos zodiacales.

En la segunda serie de su Tarot, Xul se aboca a los arquetipos tradicionales del marsella, pero sólo a algunos, mientras fusiona la iconografía de culto medieval con invenciones gráficas propias.

En este particular mazo de colección, Xul nos ofrece su versión de los enamorados, el mago, el carro, la luna, el papa, la rueda de la fortuna, la torre, el colgado, el emperador, el sol y el juicio.

Estamos ante una tremenda obra de arte, llena de simbología.

In 1953, the brilliant artist Xul Solar reinterpreted the Tarot cards. To each card he adds the name in 'neocriollo', a sign that can belong to the zodiac or astrological symbol, a number and a letter. Xul drew and painted on the first twelve cards of his tarot, the twelve zodiac signs.

In the second series of his Tarot, Xul is devoted to the traditional archetypes of Marseilles, but only to some, while fusing medieval cult iconography with his own graphic inventions.

In this particular collector's deck, Xul offers us his version of lovers, the magician, the chariot, the moon, the pope, the wheel of fortune, the tower, the hanger, the emperor, the sun and the judgment.

This is a tremendous work of art, full of symbolism.
