Product application
- The granite used for surface plates has an excellent distribution of hard quartz which provides a smooth, long-wearing working surface
- For general inspection work throughout the shop.

- Surface plates are checked by an auto-collimator for overall accuracy, Bilateral Accuracy: +/-.00005"
- Granite surface plates meet or exceed Federal Specifications GGG-P-463C
- Inspection grade "A" granite surface plate has a bilateral accuracy range which is the difference between the highest and lowest peaks when checking the surface contour on flatness.
- Granite Plates are harder than steel, non magnetic, least responsive to temperature changes, practically maintenance free and won't corrode like steel. Available with ledges for clamping purposes or without ledges.
- Retains accuracy for years.
- Includes a certificate of inspection (Not NIST traceable)
- Shars Brand surface plates have same accuracy as USA and Japan Brand.
