Some may be of French origin; many come from postcards, others are amateur stills from "audition" screen shots for the up-and coming-actress:) I'm sure there are even a few taken at a bordello. A good mix of shots. Great quality - can be viewed on any PC system with software that can view the commonly used .jpg image format.
