(1) "15878.   Salt Beds, Great Salt Lake, Utah."

Postally unused, "Postage 3 Cents With Salt Bag" box.

Circular emblem in upper left reads: "SALT LAKE CITY, CENTER OF SCENIC AMERICA.  1847   1947   UTAH CENTENNIAL."

Description in upper center back reads:

"FACTS ON GREAT SALT LAKE, UTAH
This great Salt Sea is the largest of its character in
the world.  It is fifteen miles west of Salt Lake City.
The topography of the Salt Lake Valley is similar to
the Holy Land, inasmuch as it has its Dead Sea, which
in turn is fed by the Jordan River.  The water is about
22 per cent solids, and persons can float upon its furface
without effort.  The salt industry around the shores of
the lake is carried on by several companies, and many
thousands of tons are shipped annually, obtained by
solar evaporation."

Published by Carpenter Paper Co., Salt Lake City.

Poor condition.  Tape stains on top edge; right corners have been clipped; light creases in right middle; salt bag missing.
