LIBERACE

Here's Liberace

 MCA RECORDS CD

This is a very enjoyable album as it is Liberace's best bits recorded with a live audience. If you have never heard Liberace, this will give you a taste of what a live concert was like with audience reaction and Liberace's introductions before each number. He plays "Mack the Knife" in the style of Mozart and other classic composers, then speeds it up to a double-time Samba. There is the classic Boogie Woogie with audience reaction. Liberace even makes comments about an unnamed London critic and other critics "I've heard some of those stories about me. Why they gave me ideas that I never even knew I had!" Some of this was recorded at the London Palladium. You can't listen to this without a smile on your face and a few laughs out loud. As of 2/4/08 it will be 21 years since Liberace has been gone. He brought so much joy to audiences around the world for over 40 years! He was a one of a kind showman, please do yourself a favor and introduce yourself to the world of Liberace with this album.

This recording captures the high energy enthusiasm of Liberace in a live performance. It is a mixture of his awsome piano-playing ability and capacity for wry jokes. Critics tore him apart and gossip journalists made creul innuendos; but the man in the glittery suite just kept on entertaining audiences around the world. He even joined in the fun of making fun of himself, and (as he once said) cried all the way to the bank.
