Details on this kit, please read:

Do you have a Princeton Monitor that is having issues of not always turning on, turning on then right off or not coming out of the sleep mode? Has this problem been getting worse over time? One of the most common failures on this monitor is capacitor failure in the power supply board.

Disclaimer:

This kit may not fix all issues with this series of monitors but the issue with the factory capacitors going bad is a very common one. If you take your monitor apart and inspect the condition of the original capacitors you may see damaged, bulging, overheated and/or broken capacitors. You may see only one or two that appear damaged but you should replace all 6 that are included in this kit. After replacement you may notice that the monitor display looks better and responds better than it ever has! It is not however a "fix-all" and this repair if you choose to do it is done at your own risk and we have no control over the repair or quality of work that you perform. This kit has no implied warranty what so ever. Most likely if you have the bad capacitor condition you will be able to rectify the problem by replacing the bad caps. More than 90% we see only has bad caps and works fine after the fix. Of course your results may vary so you are doing this at your own discretion. If you are not comfortable with removing the bad caps and installing new caps there are a few other companies that offer a board repair if you send them your board. Do your own research and make up your mind before you place an order. If you have any questions just send me a message. I'm happy to help if possible.

Details of skills needed  to properly install these parts: You will need to have basic soldering skills and the ability to take apart your monitor. If you do not have these abilities and/or  the know how or the desire to learn on your own monitor then you should seek the help of a professional. This repair is fairly easy to perform with the basic soldering skills and ability to disassemble your monitor. Doing so will save you a ton of money. You will need to remove the back of the monitor case to gain access to the power supply board. You will also need to unsolder the 6 bad capacitors and install and solder the new capacitors. Please be very careful to install with the correct polarity before you install & solder in the new caps! If unsure of any of this please seek advice or the help of a professional.

Recent questions: What is included in this kit? Will it work with my monitor? What do the included pictures show?

This listing is for a set of 6 capacitors to fix the common problem with the power supply board in the Princeton VL2018W 20" LCD monitor and the Acer AL1716A LCD monitor that use power supply board number FSP043-2PI01.

Additional pictures: Take a look at the included close-up pictures. I have indicated on an actual board the 6 capacitors that are normally replaced. They also show the board part numbers so you can compare. Only use these images to help confirm what is in your monitor before you order anything. Sometimes there may be slight changes in production runs. You should compare the listed capacitor values below against what is installed in your unit and confirm they are the same. Be aware that this listing is only for capacitors, not a replacement power supply board. You need to use the capacitors to replace the corresponding capacitors on your power supply board.

All of the capacitors in this kit are a very high quality, high temperature electrolytic caps designed for use in switch mode power supplies found in TVs, VCRs, etc. They range in the 85° - 105° C operating temperature depending on the capacitor & satisfies characteristic W of JIS-C-5141 standards. They’re also RoHS Compliant. The voltage ratings on these are approximately 50% higher than the weak factory units, which will help them survive much longer than the originals providing many years of great service. Original caps were rated at 10V and 25V the new capacitors are rated at higher voltages (16V and 35V respectively). Look below at the capacitor values to compare to your board. The included images of the caps are just for reference as well. There may be slight variations in production runs but they are all high quality, long life capacitors. Any questions just let me know.
