This necklace is constructed with five colors of satin rattail (red, green, orange, purple and maroon) and is woven using Kumihimo techniques. Kumihimo is the Japanese art of braiding. The three beaded braids consist of two pieces 9.0" long (22.9 cm) and one piece 6.0" long (15.3 cm), excluding the gold-plated findings. The overall length of the necklace is 29.0" (73.7 cm). The wire working done on this design used 14kt gold-filled wire. The clasp is 14kt gold-plate.

The red beads are vintage Chinese beads, and there are 15 of them in the fabricated pendant, which hangs from a hammer-textured bail. The wire wrapping the center section gives a sturdy base for the pendant. The necklace is reversible, so you can wear it with just the tip of the bail showing, or turn it around and show more of it as it drapes over the braid.
