MOSASAURUS FOSSIL TOOTH WITH ASSOCIATED BONES FROM MOROCCO ON STAND #M9

A RARE AND NATURAL PREDATOR BONE NICELY PRESERVED!

The giant Mosasaurus beaugei tooth exhibits a glossy sheen as if just dropped from the creature's jaw!  The enamel is a rich transition of dark to light brown. Mosasaurus were serpentine marine reptile that breathed air and were powerful swimmers, well-adapted to living in the warm, shallow epicontinental seas prevalent during the Cretaceous Period. Mosasaurs had a double-hinged jaw and flexible skull (like a snake), which enabled them to gulp down their prey almost whole! 

The teeth have been prepped in very high relief so that it seems as though it was just resting on the bottom of the prehistoric ocean floor.  Matrix is original and as found and this fantastic fossil is a natural specimen that was found in this position and HAVE NOT BEEN ARTIFICIALLY ATTACHED TO THE MATRIX.

The specimen is dated from the Upper Cretaceous period of MOROCCO (Maastrichtian  age, 70 millions years ago). It was found in Khourigba, Gantour Phosphate Deposit Basin, Morocco.

The size of the specimen is 9cm by 6cm by 5cm.
