This is an original folded letter that was taken to the post office by the sender and mailed.  ONE of the reasons it is collectible is because of the fact that  the local postmaster applied postal markings considered appropriate for the letter's journey.  In addition to being collectable becasue of the content of the letter, or the writer, or the addressee, it is a collectable item of postal history.

Stunning use:

January 2nd 1829 Waddington to Ogdensburg use for a letter (top of the page) giving one year for a declaration/notice of Trial in the case of C. L. Shepard versus M. R. Benson.

January 5, 1830 Ogdensburg use back to Waddington for a respons (bottom of the page) saying that no Declaration of notice had ever been received, though there is a Bail Bond filed by J. G. Stedman in a suit of E. Abernation, Horatio N. Robinson et al.

SUPER Turned use.  The first use Waddington to Ogdensburg is Photo one and then the year and 3 day later turned use back is the second photo.

This item is from the collection of Calvet Hahn and is accompanied by his original album notes.  Mr. Hahn's collection is very fresh to the market.  Most of his items have not been offered for sale for 30-40 years.  Many of the items are "listing" and/or "recording" items according to his album notes.
