If you are using this for a non 93 Cobra model or the 87-93 Mustang, you will need additional items to be able to adapt and integrate the 93 Cobra MC into your braking system. As a minimum on the 87-93, you need to use a 3-2 port adapter kit or an equivalent type of kit and/or some custom brake lines and fittings.

Current batch does not have the following. We are expecting some more perhaps in our next delivery but for now this is just for reference. Please ignore the photo showing the extra bolt holes. MC update: New style MC also has 2 mounting holes on the backside of the casting, as can be seen in picture #3. We have been told this could be useful for those wanting to mount an external aftermarket proportioning valve or similar bracket. The thread size is metric 8mm x 1.25. Easy to obtain appropriate bolts if this is what you are planning. I will update this information if we get some additional details with a new project to possibly help someone planning something similar. Be aware that it is not necessary to use these additional mounting holes. Most will not even notice them!

NOTE: bench bleeding

Make sure you bench bleed your MC prior to installing it into the car. You will need to obtain a bench bleed kit> Sometimes we are able to provide the basic bench bleed plug kit but we are currently out of them! There is plenty of information on the web on how to bench bleed MC. Please do your research.

This is the part that is most recommended when doing a rear disc brake conversion to the 1987-1993 Mustang.  It has the 1.00" bore size that is needed for your rear disc conversion. This will work great when upgrading to a Cobra brake system and also the GT/V6 brake system as well. Use with stock vacuum booster or upgrade to the SN95 booster for even more brake assist. Has connector for low fluid sensor. This MC will require the use of the  3-2 port conversion to properly connect to your 87-93 brake system. Brand new replacement master cylinder with a $124.78 retail price. Check my other listing for the 3-2 port adapter kit. This M/C has Metric fittings (M10 & M12).


If you are trying to use this MC with an older (79-86 Mustang) you will need to adapt to fit SAE brake fittings. I carry to proper adapters to fit back into a brake system using SAE fittings which may make things easier to adapt to your older or "classic" Mustang. Just contact me for more information.

 

Note: The included pictures are stock photos but are a great representation of the actual units we have available. Nice brand new aluminum castings with a brand new plastic reservoir already installed. We pack them up very well to protect it so it will get to you in great shape!


Bench Bleeding My MC?


Bench Bleeding: Be aware that you need to bench bleed a new MC prior to installing it on your vehicle. Sometimes they include the port plugs (bleeder plugs) with the MC and other times they do not. Lately, they have not been including them! We have no control over this so you will have to make a provision for this to allow a proper bench bleeding procedure. We do however carry a great bench bleeding system / bleeder syringe tool. It makes bench bleeding a MC a snap. We have them in our Ebay store. Order one with the MC and the bleeder syringe tool will get free shipping! Contact me for more information.


Update: Current batch of MC do not include the bench bleeding plugs. Pickup one of our syringe tools and we can ship that tool with free shipping if you also purchase the MC & they ship together if want both items. Contact me for details.



This brake MC is necessary when converting to larger front disc brake setup on the pre-1994 (1987-1993) Mustang when using the SN95 front and rear brakes Check out my other auctions for additional SN95 hard to find parts! I have the fitting necessary to adapt the rear hard lines to the newer larger connector on the soft line (brake hose) in another listing as well as many more interesting items!

" It has been brought to my attention that this is the actual part that Ford Racing includes with their M-2300-K Cobra brake upgrade kit. The P/N on the bottom of the casting is 30876-AC USA ALC. This is on my current batch. If this is important to you please confirm that I still have this exact (P/N) item available as we do get new inventory in on a regular basis and I cannot predict exactly how long this current batch will be available. Either way they are all a very high quality replacement MC. The current batch that we now have actually comes with the low fluid level switch included, no need to swap your old level switch over. Get one today!

Please note that for proper setup and operation, you should bench bleed the MC before you install on the car. The process is fairly easy. You will need to use either a plug kit or a tube kit for bench bleeding. Sometimes the manufacturer includes this kit and sometimes they do not. They should be readily available at most auto parts stores. This current batch does not include the bench bleed kit with the MC. I also have available in another listing, a great 1.00" bore M/C kit for owners of the doing a rear disc upgrade by changing to the newer & larger SN95 Calipers and  rotors. The 79-86 is standard US SAE thread. This is a much easier kit to use than it is to change over your brake plumbing to metric fittings. Contact me for more information.

Please note: I now carry a solution for your 3-2 port brake line dilemma. Available in another of my listings is a 3-2 port MC adapter kit. An easy way to make a provision for your extra 3rd brake line going into the bottom of your 87-93 Mustang MC. I also can include a nice set of instructions if you are interested. It goes to the 3-2 port adapter but also has instructions for adjusting the length of the brake push rod coming from your booster. You will need to make a small adjustment to this rod if you are installing this 93 Cobra MC to your original 87-93 brake booster>
