Up for your consideration is an incredible  Ammolite pendant  handmade  with solid 14K gold and sterling silver. The bail and bezel, the portions seen, are solid gold.  The back plate (behind the stone) is solid sterling silver.  I try to fashion all my jewelry to highlight what's most important " The Gemstone".  This pendant features a large 17 ct. 28x16mm(12mm=1/2") free form Ammolite gem.  The seller of this gem did not list a grade, but it is an "AA" grade stone without a doubt.   I try to take all photos using bright sunlight (the most natural light that there is) because that's how I feel Ammolite looks it's best.  I'll be using different background colors & textures, due to the kindness of a good friend who gave me lots of different fabric samples.     Lines that you see in the stone are not cracks, but rather are natural inclusions often found in Ammolite gems.  Pyrite (thin gold veins) and Limonite (thicker black lines) are also commonly found in Ammolite. 

The surface of this gemstone is flat and smooth.  As often as I work with these Ammolites, I'm amazed by the beauty created by nature. This stone has wonderful colors and extreme flash. Even in lower light, this Ammolite has brilliant color and flash.  The colors presented by this Ammolite are red, orange,gold, green and blue, all depending on how light hits the stone's surface.   The overall size of this pendant is 1 1/2" high by  7/8" wide.   The natural Ammolite in this piece of jewelry came from Alberta, Canada.  It was cut and finished by  Ammolite experts who take great pride in their work and who never coat any of their natural stones.  The pendant includes a free 18" gold filled chain as shown.

Please keep in mind that Ammolite is a non-renewable resource, which I have read and been told will be mined out in the next 20 years or less.    As more people learn about Ammolite and it becomes scarcer, the prices will skyrocket, and I believe that uncoated naturals will become the most valued.
