These are the same bridles that have proven so popular on our original listing, but with some improvements. Made by Sport Horse Products UK, the design now includes billet hook fastenings, gently curved browbands, rubber reins, and a choice of plain or crystal style browband.
Shaped, mono-crown comfort headpiece bridles from Sport Horse with an exceptionally well-designed drop noseband. Adjustable not just on the cheek and under the chin, but on both sides of the nose and both cheeks as well, allowing precise fitting for a much happier horse.
A well-fitted drop noseband is the most humane, effective and comfortable way to keep a horse's mouth closed. Unlike Flash nosebands, the drop or Hanoverian noseband does not cause pressure points around the jaw or at the poll, does not cause Temporo-Mandibular Joint pain, allows the horse to swallow normally so that he doesn't have the sensation of drowning in saliva, allows him to move his jaw and mouth the bit in a normal, healthy manner - all of which generally leads to a horse with a more relaxed mouth and tongue, which has a knock-on effect that extends to the poll, the neck, and so on, and often results in a softer contact with less resistance than previously encountered.
The problem of course, is in sourcing a drop noseband that fits. The standard design has no way to lengthen or shorten the front strap across the nose and as a result, they very rarely fit well. Sport Horse have come up with an excellent solution with a drop noseband that has five separate adjustment points on a bridle that also has a comfort headpiece and comes complete with reins, all at an affordable price.
The headpiece is anatomically shaped to prevent pressure around the base of the ears and is lined with soft gel padding to prevent pressure at the poll.
The headpiece is constructed from a single piece of leather, so does not have a separate noseband strap going over the poll at all, which gives a much more comfortable fit and a neater appearance.
The noseband and curved browband are lined, raised and blocked for an attractive finish.
Complete with rubber reins and stainless steel fittings.
A well designed bridle, invaluable for any horse that doesn't go well in a Flash noseband and an excellent choice for starting youngsters, too.
