Sylvia Plachy Photographs Laid-in. New York, NY: Aperture, 1990. First Edition. The
photographer's first photo-book, with black and white photographs taken over
the course of her career to that date. The laid-in photographs 8" x
10" size, black and white: a raptor in flight; the other an image of two
men in lab coats at a parapet overlooking a cityscape. Both photographs with
the rubber-stamp of Sylvia Plachy and also a few pencil numbers, not dated and
not further signed by her; Little bit of soiling to edge of raptor image, back
of print with a pressure - push, just visible if photo is held at an angle; a
couple of small blemishes (1/4") to the other photo, at far right of
image, possibly a chemical reaction and not visible unless angled. Book
designed by Yolanda Cuomo, afterword by Guy Trebay; music by Tom Waits, with
album in sleeve on back endpaper; large format, approx. 10 3/4" x 11
1/2" size; illustrated dustjacket over boards binding; light edge, tips
wear to the dustjacket, short closed tear at bottom back edge of spine, sunned;
in very good condition as are the laid-in images.
