Now entering service with the U.S.Navy, the single seat F/A-18E Super Hornet is currently replacing some F/A-18C Hornet and F-14 Tomcat Squadrons. At first glance, the new Super Hornet may look like an extension of the F/A Hornet family, but it is an almost completely new aircraft design sharing little with the older F/A-18C Hornet except a similar shape and name. It's longer and wider with a broader wingspan.
