Arcade Toy Co. in Freeport IL was in business for many years, BUT they just did NOT get the cast iron furniture painted well. If an old piece of Arcade furniture was moved around, played with and touched, then the paint didn't stay on very well. Sometimes like this piece, just sitting on a shelf and the paint shows age on the top & front only! Strange, but that's ARCADE! Many old pieces of Arcade furniture have been cleaned up and repainted. But not any of mine! This old icebox needs a hinge fixed on one door. I don't repair or change old toys, but some collectors do! One shelf  is uneven as well, but this is how it will be sold. Size is the regular Arcade kitchen size ice box at 3 3/4" high, and 3 1/4" wide Approx. 1 1/2" front to back. Marked well on the lower inside front "ARCADE MFG. CO. * FREEPORT, ILL"? Two of the photos show the Arcade name! Probably from the early 1930's but certainly not made in the WWII years! So before WWII for sure! This is an "as found" of course.
