NO RESERVE. 1/72 WWII Messerschmitt Bf 110 E1 Jabo, Unit ID "Yellow Band - S9 MP" (with the "M" in yellow), 6./ZG 1 "Wespe", Russia, Autumn. 1942 - with ZG 1 standing for Zestörergeschwader 1, or "Destroyer Wing 1".

The Bf 110, often known non-officially as the Me 110 was a twin-engine heavy fighter (Zestörer - which is German for "Destroyer") and fighter-bomber (Jagdbomber or Jabo) developed in Germany in the 1930s and used by the Juftwaffe during World War II. In creating this listing we had first identified the model as representing a Zestörer aircraft but subsequent research then found that most of the E Series were fighter bombers - or Jabos - so we therefore decided it was more likely that the model represented a Jabo.

The only information about the actual aircraft represented by the model are the two lines that read as follows on the base of the model's stand:  "Messerschmitt Bf 110 E1" and "Germany". All the of the remaining specifics stated above are the results of our own independent research on our part, Interestingly, as we were tracking down the salient points about the aircraftin the above description, we ran across many action illustrations and full-color profiles of "03-79". This tended to siggest that the aircraft was famous, possibly as one flown by a Japanese Naval Air Force Ace. However, we were unable to find anything that would corroborate this.

Model can be displayed 'on the ground' on its landing gear or 'in flight' on the stand provided as shown in our pictures. Diecast model. Ixo Junior #PIXJ000009.

MIB but the white of the model's box is somewhat discolored and the box itself is very shelf-worn, which is most apparent by it underside being dished in. The model came to us in a small group of Ixo Junior aircraft which were mint models still inside their two-piece clear plastic holders but with boxes that were flawed to one degree or another. However, despite these problems with its box, the model itself remains mint.

FOR ANYONE NOT FAMILIAR WITH HOW TO INTERPRET A MODEL'S SCALE, THE MODEL IS 6 3/4 INCHES LONG WITH A WINGSPAN OF 8 3/4 INCHES. THESE ARE EQUIVALENT TO DIVIDING THE LENGTH AND WINGSPAN OF THE REAL AIRCRAFT IN INCHES BY 72.
