Hector Saunier was born in Argentina in 1936. Studied architecture and then moved to Paris France in early 1960s.  By mid-1960s he was connected with the famous Atelier 17 (now Atelier Contrepoint) and studied printmaking under the founder, Stanley William Hayter. Upon Hayter's death in 1988, Saunier became Co-Director of Atelier Contrepoint.
