Finally available here and nowhere else. For every serious slot car fan, I offer this complete scale Armco style guardrail system made from solid aluminum and wood, just like the professionals use. This adds incredible realism to custom layouts and is so much nicer and more realistic than the plastic type commonly available. This will surely bring much more dimension and interest to your layout.
Designed in 1/32 scale, the rails measure 5/8" H. (20" in scale) All rail sections are 12" long (32 feet in scale) and include 6 scale wooden posts per section, made from clear pine. The posts are 3/16" square and 2 3/4" long (you cut to desired length) and are natural unfinished wood, but staining them with a light brown wood stain makes them look much more realistic.
The aluminum rails are a natural shiny finish on the face and may be weathered or painted if desired. A quick swipe with a scotchbrite pad will make them look like galvanized rail. Cut down the posts to the desired length, attach them to the railing with Super Glue and attach to your track or table. Very realistic, and the best scale guardrail available anywhere. Great for custom wood tracks, Dioramas or sectional types as well.

You are getting a scale Armco Guard Rail in miniature. The car and track are not included in this auction!
My system consists of many different types of railing for complete flexibility.
1. 12" plain straights
2. 12" straights with the curve on one end ( slightly shorter because of the curved end
3. 12" straight sections with the curve on both ends
4. 12" inside or outside corner sections in 6", 9", 12", 15", 18", 21", 24" , 30", 36", 42", and 48" pre-formed radiuses.
Radius sections can be slightly bent to accommodate different radii if they are supported on some type of form. You may request one end of any radius section to have a curve on one end. You must let me know what types you need when placing the order.
A radius is 1/2 the diameter of a full circle. Most curved railings are installed on the outside of a corner. Tie a piece of string to a pencil and use it to measure the radius required on your layout.
The rails and posts are shipped loose. Before installing on your layout, the scale posts need to be trimmed to their desired length, stained with your favorite color wood stain, left to dry and equally spaced and glued to the back side of the rail with Super Glue, using the supplied spacing template. The back side of the rail has been lightly sanded for complete glue adhesion. The top section of the post standoff has been shaped to conform to the back side of the rail profile. This helps to square the posts when gluing and makes the glue joint very strong. The bottom of the railing should be mounted about 3/8" above ground/track level in order to look correct. I use one long post and 5 short posts on each rail. The long post is mounted in a hole, and the 5 short posts control the rail installed height.
Custom installations such as two or three rails stacked on posts or double sided posts are possible by ordering special posts for a small upcharge.
If you wish, you may simulate the bolts attaching the railing to the posts with a pencil, pen or silver sharpie. Rails should overlap each other by about 1/2" at a post. Instructions, a post spacing template and helpful hints are included.

Price is $5.50 per foot (each section whether straight or curved.) Shipping is only a fixed $5.00 to CONUS , no matter how many parts you wish shipped.
